Tips and tricks for maintaining your own swimming pool
Whether the swimming pool exists outdoors in a gymnasium or in your home, it requires exhaustive maintenance. Though it is a simple product to offer, the presence of water and floorings makes it extremely imperative for the swimming pool owners to maintain it.
Based on my experience of maintaining a swimming pool on my own, I recommend the following tips:
- Your swimming pool is a conglomeration of chemical activities. They are not far away when you talk of water. It is extremely important that you check the PH and the chlorine levels of the water in the pool. Not keeping the chlorine levels in check will result in skin diseases for swimmers. This you can do by employing an electronic Ph or Chlorine Indicator which is relatively simple to use.
- Water balance in your pool needs to be checked. Here we talk of you maintaining the required alkalinity and the total dissolved solids ratio of your pool in check. Again same tip, you get lot of electronic equipments who will do this check for you in a hassle-free manner.
- Brush the walls and tile – If you do not brush up the walls and tile of your pool, your pool will be nothing but an algae lake in a few months of running. And trust me, people do not like to swim on algae lakes. You can brush the walls on the swimming pools using the normal water brush or wall-scrub.
- Keep the water clean – It is a simple tip which a lot of swimming pool owners neglect amidst the technicalities. If you are not going to flush out water in the swimming pool at least once in three days, you will end up having dirty water in your pool. The water needs to be cleaned and replenished and can be done using your hose pumps or a water-pump.
- Maintain the drains – The essence of a drainage system in a swimming pool cannot be ruled out. If you do not have a good drainage system for waste or unclean water to get disposed, you could end up spending almost days for you to get the unclean water off. There are many chemicals available in the market which will help you decongest your drains just in case there is a lot of congestion in them.
- Swimming Pool maintenance is all about maintaining basic things which constitute the swimming pool. You can either do it in a very traditional manner or if you are tech-savvy, you could look for a technological alternative.
